The next time I plugged the phone in and set it to sync, it worked. I went to the Windows/system32/drivers folder and there were three LG*.* files I deleted them. I went to the C:\Program Files\ and deleted the LG USBDrivers folder. I went to my device manager and uninstalled the driver. So I looked at the name of the driver and it was something like C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\LGUSBDriver.xxx whatever. I was bothered that the date of my driver was in 2005 since the phone came out late in 2006. What I did when I got the cable was to run the CD drivers that came with my cable. I was getting the installation messages and as soon as the MTP message came up, I got the "problem" message and it didn't sync. (I also have the Verizon Essentials program that I downloaded, but I like WMP better. I, like others decided to just buy a USB cable for my VX9900 and use Windows Media Player for sync'ing.
