![]() In both cases it's just a matter of proper geometry/trigonometry calculation to get the needed imageset from multiple panoramas: each panorama can be used to produce something like 12 or 24 "crops" of the original spherical image, and passed to Remake or similar program. I have instead one single "360°" camera, actually a fishey camera with 235° FOV. These modern cameras do NOT use stitching of multiple images: the maximum number of stitched images is 2, like in the case of thej/Julian, which uses a samsung gear, made of two fishey cameras, each one with 180° Field Of View. Virtualdub SW could provide the required downsampling of the video in advance. Maybe a script based on Imagemagick could "do the trick" of producing the needed 4 image sequences (one per wall) to be used in any 3d reconstruction SW? Maybe the best result would come if the camera was moved along a square line while taking the video, and if it was kept always with same orientation: this would make easier the needed calculations.īut I think 25 frames/seconds would be a lot more than needed, so the SW should downsample the video in advance.Īssuming 1 FPS, 20 seconds scanning (5 seconds per each side of the square path) and 24 planar subframes obtained from each spherical frame, this would result in 480 images to process, 120 per each wall, which should give a good 3d model. Doing it by hand would be a very long and annoying task, but it's actually a matter of a lot of math and copy and paste, and computers are very good in such things! Default parameters will be chosen for operation in given scenario.
